Got Questions or Concerns
Let Us Help You Find Some Answers

If you’re new to garment decorating, the process can be overwhelming.  We get it and want to help.  Below we address some commonly asked questions.  If you don’t find the answer you’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

General Questions

Screen Printing: Screen printing is the most cost-effective option for larger quantities. Just keep in mind — as you add more colours to your design, the price increases slightly, since each colour needs its own screen and setup. For smaller orders or designs with lots of colours, you might eventually prefer DTF printing.

DTF (Direct to Film): DTF is perfect when you want unlimited colours and sharp, high-resolution prints. It’s ideal for small batches or detailed, colourful designs where screen printing isn’t practical.

Sublimation: Sublimation offers vibrant, full-colour prints infused directly into the fabric — with little to no feel on the garment. It’s a cost-effective way to achieve designs with infinite colours. Just note, this process doesn’t allow for printing white; wherever your design has white, the shirt colour will show through.

Vinyl: If you only need a few items with a simple, single-colour design with clean linework, vinyl might be your best option. The high-quality vinyl has a nice, soft feel on the garment. This method is often a solid option for sportswear and team apparel.

We ask that you give us two weeks form the time all of the details have been ironed out.  It is usually faster, but we want to make sure we have enough time to not only meet your expectations, but exceed them.

Absolutely. We’ll send you a digital mock-up so you can review the design, placement, and colours. We don’t print until you give us the green light.

You’ll be asked to verify spelling at this time and sign off that everything is to your liking.

Wash inside out, in cold water, and tumble dry on low or hang dry. This keeps your prints looking bold and fresh for as long as possible.

We know most people don’t do this, but that’s what is recommended.

Sadly, our wholesalers charge more for these sizes, but rather than increasing the price per garment to hide this cost, we have opted to charge a fair mark-up for what you decide to order.

We always try our best to give you the best prices possible. Often we will combine our clients’ orders in order to save on shipping from our wholesalers.  Sadly, some orders are small and there’s no opportunity to piggyback with another order, and as a result, a small fee is charged.

Screen Priting Questions

Screen printing is a printing method where ink is pushed through a mesh screen onto fabric, one colour at a time. It’s ideal for bold, long-lasting designs on clothing and other textiles.

Our minimum is typically 24 items, as the setup process makes small runs less cost-effective. For smaller quantities, we recommend DTF or vinyl. Feel free to check with us for orders less than 24, as we don’t mind helping out when we can.

We strongly recommend using garments we supply through our trusted wholesalers. This ensures consistent quality, easier replacements if needed, and helps us keep our production process smooth and reliable.

If you prefer to provide your own garments, we’re happy to accommodate, but please note:
✔ Printing costs will be slightly higher due to added risk and handling.
✔ We require extra garments in each size in case of print errors or production issues.

We take pride in our work and will do our best to minimize any issues, but printing on customer-supplied items is done at your own risk.

Yes, but all items need to have the same design, size, and placement. Mixing sizes, colours, or styles of garments is fine — as long as the print stays the same. Swapping ink colours is permitted, but a fee will be charged to offset the downtime.

Our shop can use up to 6 screens at a time on the press. Colours can be mixed to create additional colours.  Keep in mind that each colour requires its own screen and the cost can quickly add up. Designs with fewer colours are most affordable for the screen printing process.

Each colour in your design requires a separate screen and extra setup time. Fewer colours = lower cost. More colours = more setup, but also more design flexibility. Sadly, with that flexibility comes extra costs.

Screen printing works best for solid colours and bold designs. Halftones can be used to achieve photo-realism, but it requires artwork that meets the specs of the screens being used. We can help, but the project will incure an additional fee.

You may want to consider DTF or sublimation for such instances, as it tends to be a more cost-effective option.

Yes! Screen printing is known for its durability. The ink bonds to the fabric and holds up well to washing and everyday wear.

When done right, it should last a long time. Better than most store bought shirts.

DTF Questions

DTF (Direct-to-Film) is a printing method where your design is printed onto a special film, then heat-pressed directly onto the garment. It allows for full-colour, high-resolution prints—even photo-realistic images—on a wide variety of fabrics.

There’s no strict minimum! DTF is perfect for small runs, even one-off prints, as well as larger projects.

The cost per item is less when more are ordered.  Just something to keep in mind.

Yes, you can. However, we recommend using garments we supply to ensure quality and consistency. If you provide your own, please include a few extras in case of production issues.

Absolutely! One of the advantages of DTF is its versatility. We can apply your design to cotton, polyester, blends, and more—all within the same order.

Unlimited! DTF handles full-colour printing with ease, so you’re not restricted by the number of colours.

Please keep in mind that your print will only look as good as the artwork you submit.  Let us know if you need help with this.

Yes! DTF is ideal for detailed, photo-quality designs. Just be sure to send high-resolution artwork for the best results.

Definitely. DTF prints are flexible, long-lasting, and hold up well to regular washing when cared for properly.Yes! Screen printing is known for its durability. The ink bonds to the fabric and holds up well to washing and everyday wear.

Sublimation Questions

Sublimation is a printing process where special inks are turned into gas and permanently bonded into polyester fabric. This creates vibrant, long-lasting designs that won’t crack, peel, or fade.

Garments that are 50/50, can be used, but the cotton will maintain its colour.

Beyond apparel, sublimation works on a wide range of products with a polyester coating. Popular items include mugs, tumblers, mousepads, keychains, phone cases, tote bags, and even home décor like coasters or pillows.

There’s no strict minimum, but sublimation works best for small to medium runs.

We recommend using garments we supply, as sublimation only works on polyester or poly-blend fabrics. If you provide your own, they must be 100% polyester (or very close) and light in colour.

Yes! Just keep in mind that they need to be polyester.

Unlimited! Sublimation is full-colour and can handle gradients, fades, and complex artwork with ease.

Keep in mind that anything white will use the colour of the material being sublimated.

Yes! Sublimation is excellent for high-resolution, photo-quality designs—perfect for detailed graphics and full-colour prints.

Very! Because the ink is embedded into the fabric, sublimated prints won’t crack or peel. The colours stay bright and sharp wash after wash.

Vinyl Questions

Heat press vinyl (HTV) is a special material cut into shapes or designs and then applied to a garment with heat and pressure. It sits on top of the fabric, creating bold, clean designs.

Vinyl is ideal for names, numbers, simple logos, small runs, and one-off designs—like sports jerseys, workwear, or personalized apparel.

There’s no strict minimum, making vinyl a great option for small orders or even single garments.

Yes, but we recommend garments we supply since we know they press well. If you provide your own, extra garments may be requested in case of mishaps during application.

Absolutely—vinyl can be applied to cotton, polyester, and many blends. Just keep in mind that garment texture and fabric type can affect the final look and feel.

Vinyl is best for solid, bold colours. Each colour requires its own layer, so designs with multiple colours can become complex and more costly.

No—vinyl is not suited for detailed, photo-realistic prints. It works best for simple shapes, text, and bold graphics.

Yes—when properly cared for, vinyl designs hold up well. They won’t fade, but over time, excessive heat or improper washing may cause peeling or cracking.

We use quality vinyl that is made to endure everyday wear and tear.

I had several shirts designed and made by Fireproof Apparel, which my construction crew and I wear daily. After a year the screen print still looks great and the shirts are still in excellent condition. Very Pleased!
